Green Energy for a Sustainable Future

Congo Vert is a Congolese cleantech company dedicated to developing sustainable solutions based on biomass valorization, biochar production, and circular economy principles.

Our mission is to address energy, agricultural, and climate challenges by transforming biodegradable waste into high-value products that support local communities, businesses, and environmental resilience.

Biochar

We convert agricultural and organic residues into biochar, a stable carbon-rich material that improves soil fertility, increases water retention, and enhances long-term agricultural productivity.

Green Energy

Part of our biochar production is transformed into Makala Vert, an eco-friendly charcoal alternative made from recycled biomass.

Makala Vert provides a cleaner and more sustainable cooking fuel while reducing pressure on forests and limiting deforestation.

Carbone Credits

Biochar permanently stores carbon in soils for decades, and in many cases centuries.

This carbon sequestration potential creates opportunities for certified carbon removal projects and contributes directly to global climate mitigation efforts.

What is the Makala Vert Project?

Driving Africa’s Green Transition

Congo Vert converts organic waste and locally available biomass into sustainable products that create environmental, social, and economic value.

Our solutions support households, farmers, businesses, and communities while contributing to a circular and low-carbon economy.

Ongoing Projects

New Production Facility

Our new production facility aims to scale up the transformation of organic waste into biochar and Makala Vert. This infrastructure will strengthen local production capacity while reducing pressure on natural forests.

Makala Vert Awareness Campaign

This initiative promotes environmental education and sustainable energy adoption among schools, households, and local communities.

Pyrolysis Training Program

This program trains farmers and local stakeholders in sustainable pyrolysis techniques to produce biochar efficiently and safely.

The resulting biochar can be used as both a renewable fuel and a soil amendment that improves fertility, water retention, and agricultural productivity
